The gaining of time - LAX

Steve couldnt resist the family selfie - Joshua wasnt playing though.

Can you see the snow on the tips of the California Mountains?

Sleep finds the kids in LAX. Joshua had many positions of sleep, including the middle of the floor. Waking him was the bigger problem.

After a brief introduction from Steve, LS has taken the reins again. Preparations for take off were all relatively straight forward. Only Steve and Belle managed to catch a few pre-flight zzzzz's with Joshua and I choosing to remain awake. Leaving home was particularly emmotional for some of us. Sammie has been on to us for a few weeks and was particularly clingy all day yesterday.

Fiji airways were great and we had a clean and smooth flight through from Melbourne, Nadi and LAX. A healthy debate ensued when the host noted that we had crossed the international date line and it was still 11 December. Given we were all living on plane sleep, the merits of gaining time feel more like going through a ground dog day by the hour. Things got exciting as we saw land in the states. The tallest mountains had snow tipping their peaks, we could see the Hollywood signs in the distance. Yay. No issues with customs into the States. In fact we had a really lovely boarder security officer. We got a few smiles, which is unusual.

We are officially in the US, trying to bid some time in LAX awaiting our flight to Orlando. T minus 5 hours - plus or minus. We are all a little stinky, very tired and ready to crawl into bed. A little while yet before a good sleep finds us.
